ThingsezIsee'm Dance/Theater Residency Programs So Much More Than Dance!
ThingsezIsee'm Dance/Theater's teaching and residency programs are exciting and eye-opening to novices, aspiring professional dancers & actors, and professionals alike. The diverse dance, theater, and music backgrounds of the Company members from Taylor, Tharp, & Limon, are integral to the collaborative mission of the company, giving both the performers and audience a thoughtful and innovative perspective from which to view dance.
ThingsezIsee'm approaches movement in a raw, innovative way. The technique focuses on the physical aspects of the spine and special motivation of the body, as well as vocalizing and breathing techniques. These combined with scene work and partnering create the foundation from which David Grenke's work was conceived. Integrating these disciplines highlights an acute awareness of the participant's individuality and relationship to a work. Students benefit from the variety of teaching styles and skills of all the company members.
RESIDENCIES INCLUDE:
- Movement & Technique Workshops;
- Improvisation & Composition Classes;
- Theater Workshops including scene study;
- Students are included in the rehearsal process giving them the extraordinary opportunity to experience the creation of a new work first-hand, while creating a unique bond with the performers.
The excitement and diversity of ThingsezIsee'm have been profoundly and visibly experienced by many students through our teaching and residency programs. They are appropriate for students from high school through university level programs. Students will widen their range of abilities, and grasp an inimitable combination of techniques. ThingsezIsee'm residencies are also flexible, customizing to the needs of the host community and environment.
